Overview

Maryland requires certain businesses to obtain a Trader's License from the Circuit Court in the county where they operate. This applies to businesses that sell goods at retail or wholesale.

Businesses selling taxable goods or services must also register for Maryland sales tax through the Comptroller's office. Baltimore City and each of Maryland's 23 counties may have additional requirements.
