The stronger reason to look at EntityEngine is scope: it also carries entity records, a compliance calendar, and Delaware and Florida LLC formation in the same system. Can directors use EntityEngine on a phone or tablet?
Yes, through a responsive browser experience on phone, tablet, or desktop — voting, signing, and asking EntityMax questions all work; packets are downloaded rather than read in an in-app viewer. What EntityEngine does not have is a native app in the App Store or Google Play, or offline access. Diligent has both, and for directors who read board books without connectivity that is a meaningful advantage.
Is EntityEngine secure enough for a regulated board?
EntityEngine is built around encryption, granular role-based permissions, audit trails, and durable decision records, and is designed for SOC 2 readiness. It does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification, and we will not claim otherwise. A regulated board with a certification requirement should use Diligent.
Does EntityEngine support multiple entities and committees?
Committees and subcommittees are fully supported, with per-committee quorum rules, committee meeting types, and committee-scoped document access. Multiple entities are supported architecturally, but each plan currently covers one entity — additional entities mean additional plans. Diligent Entities is the stronger option for managing a large group structure.
